This is the quirky, cool, creative stuff Sri Lanka does well!

LISTEN: V. V. Ganeshananthan on The Waterstones Podcast

We have listed to quite a few interviews with V. V. Ganeshananthan ("Sugi") but recently heard this and found it a great, non-rambling, to-the-point chat about Sugi's approach to Brotherless Night. No spoilers in there, and if you havent been moved to read it yet, you might be after hearing this

STAY: Doornberg, Galle

The formally know Dutch House has been delicately restored back to life and re-opened as Doornberg. We were lucky enough to spend a couple of nights and cant rate it highly enough - it is the ultimate boutique experience. Service is exceptional and the space is calm, relaxing and tranquil. You can rent as a villa or individual rooms, great for visiting friends and relatives.
Double rooms are around $450 per night via Eden Villasbooking.com or airbnb
