The collection covers a wide range of compelling topics, including literature and language, the urgent crisis of climate change and the environment, and the complexities of human lives, travel, and discovery. A constant thread is the focus on the spaces we inhabit and how we occupy them, with topics ranging from the commodification of the clove and the diversity of the mangrove forests of Bengal to the radical fluidity of multilingualism. The essays serve as a powerful refutation of imperial violence and a fascinating exploration of the "fictions" that shape our understanding of history and the world.
